4.Why do some DVD Movies work on some players and not others?

Some Dvd’s play on some machines and not others because of a couple of factors one being the age of the player and the age of the disk newer disk have heaps more information and effects (considerably more than what was around even 1 year ago). Another reason is scratches and fingerprints which deflect the laser and the deeper the scratch and stronger the print then the more deflection. The more powerful the laser the better chance of getting through the scratch or mark . This problem is a major industry problem that is caused in the production stage of DVD’s and cd’s it is caused by air getting trapped between the layers and over time (this can vary from 1 week to 1 year) the air expands and renders the disk un- playable this is called laser rot.
